As soon as the visitor enters the exhibition, he is invited to share the artist’s private world by exploring his studio, for Michal Batory’s entire graphic and personal universe is to be found within those walls: a wilting flower used for the 2008 New Year greetings card for Adami (organisation for the protection of performers’ rights), a matchstick chair sculpture for the “Ligne de Fuite” (‘Horizon Line’) poster for the Théâtre de Chaillot, cameras, a computer, books, background music, postcards stuck up with drawing pins, trial photos for future projects… The exhibition’s other rooms display over 70 large-format posters grouped into three themes: dance, music and theatre. The last two rooms are dedicated to the Théâtre de la Colline and the Théâtre de Chaillot, for whom Michal Batory worked from 1994 to 1997 and 2001-2009 respectively.
