This precious, elegant object reflects the influence of Chinese art on Art Deco, particularly on silverware and jewelry. This type of clock face, which appeared in 1923, was used in the so-called “mystery” clocks with transparent crystal faces, and in clocks inspired by traditional Chinese screens.
